So much tragedy, evil and sad news are reported in the news papers and on social media these days. It can be difficult to be afraid and ask yourself what if it happens to me? Nevertheless the Lord knoweth them that are His.
Take some time to meditate on these scriptures to build up yourself in times of fear.
John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Romans 8:15 – The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Proverbs 29:25 – Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.
Hebrews 13:6 – So we say with confidence,“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
Psalm 34:4 – I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Isaiah 51:12 – “I, even I, am he who comforts you. who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass,
Matthew 10:28 – Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Psalm 56:3-4 – When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
Deuteronomy 7:21 – Do not be terrified by them, for the Lord your God, who is among you,is a great and awesome God.
Psalm 118:6 – The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
2 Timothy 1:7 – For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power,love and self-discipline.
1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Isaiah 12:2 – Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”
Psalm 42:5 – Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
Isaiah 43:1-3 – But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.
