Read Joshua 1:1-8
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
An obedient child always wins the heart of his/her parents. When you have two kids – one obeys your commands, the other doesn’t you respond to the needs of the obedient child quicker than the other one. There are times you may even buy him things he didn’t even ask for. The reason is that he pleases you by obeying your commands; always available whenever you need him.
Our heavenly father promised to do so much more for us if only we obey His commands – His word.
Joshua was commanded not to leave or abandon the word of God but rather spend time to continuously read and reflect on His instructions making sure to obey and do all that is written therein.
Basically God is telling us to meditate on His word and do all that is in it if we really want to be successful. A habit of meditation and seriously pondering on the word of God gives you a great reward of success and prosperity. Psalm 19:11 indicates that there is great reward in obeying His law.
His word is the way out of every situation so the more time you spend on His word the more you’ll see the benefits in your daily life. It is the price you have to pay for a successful and prosperous life
As women we have so much activities in our daily lives especially new moms & single moms but I encourage you to constantly make time for God and His word.
Thank you heavenly father for revealing your truth to me. Help me to always give you the best of my time. Grant me the grace to always meditate and obey your word.
Thought for the Day
Prosperity and success is found in the word of God.
A life of Meditation, obedient to His word and living according to His word.
Read Mark 4:35-41
He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?
Mark 4:40 (NIV)
They were the called and chosen ones. They were preaching, healing the sick and casting out devils but for a moment they realized their faith level was zero. These were the disciples of Jesus Christ. Their faith was tested and they seemed not to know who their master was and began to ask themselves “what manner of man is this that even the wind obey him”.
In your walk with God challenges and trails may cause your level of faith shaken or probably reduced to nothing but it doesn’t stop the hand of God at work in your life. When you even find yourself in a storm with a ‘NO FAITH’ situation his goodness and mercy sees you through.
For me, I see faith as a journey. Continue reading “The Secret Behind The Journey Of Faith”
Read 1 Samuel 1:9-20
In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.
1 Samuel 1:10 (NIV)
We all long for something at a point in our lives. Hannah like any other woman longed for a child. She thought the only way out was to pour out her bitterness and anguish to God through prayer. On the road to achieving her desire, obstacles emerged. Eli the Priest thought she was drunk while her rival also provoked her.
One thing I’ve realized is that we only get a positive result when we are able to ignore all obstacles and barriers we have to encounter in order to achieve our longing.
Hannah ignored the challenges because of that one thing she desired of the Lord – a male child. She became pregnant and gave birth to Samuel – a leader who changed the destiny of Israel. She never knew her prayer for just a male child would eventually produce a prophet who would anoint Saul & David. (Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him, saying, “Has not the Lord anoint you ruler over his inheritance?-1 Samuel 10:1; So Samuel took the horn of oil and anoint him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.-1 Samuel 16:13 (NIV))
At times our longings, desires and hurtful pains cause us to believe and Continue reading “The Secret For Achieving Your Desire”
Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
Grief is something we’ll all experience at a point in our lives. It may be a broken relationship (romantic or friendship), loss of job, rejection or death of a loved one.
In year 2015 I experienced so much grief that got me broken. I lost 2 of my special loved ones – my parents. My mum passed away in September 2015 and exactly ten days after her funeral in October I lost my dad. In fact, it was a terrible moment of my life. I just couldn’t accept the situation and was in denial of their death. I was griped with sadness and sorrow. I felt so empty and wished I could comfort myself as Jeremiah stated “Oh, that I (Jeremiah) could find comfort from my sorrow [for my grief is beyond healing], my heart is sick and faint within me! (Jer. 8:18-AMP).
I needed to pause for a moment and remind myself of Matthew 5:4 which indicates that there is a comforter during our mourning. The question then is why was mine full of sadness. I then realised that I had forgotten the real source of my comfort and that is God and not myself. I needed inner healing which only he could give because “He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.”
