My selected verses for the month of August ’17. May they be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Psalm 119:97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.
Acts 17:28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’[a] As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Holy Bible – King James Version (KJV)
We are full of so much joy and happiness on special occasions like Christmas, New Year, Weddings, Birthdays, Valentine days, Graduation, etc. We feel loved seeing our friends and loved ones around us. So much joy, laughter and giving of gifts is the order of the day because the day has been marked ‘SPECIAL’. So is the birth of a child. I see the day a child is born to be a joyous day. The pain during pregnancy and delivery are all forgotten immediate the beautiful gift is born. Psalm 127:3 make us understand that children are an heritage (a gift) from the Lord. John 16:21 also indicated that “When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.”
A gift needs to be taken care of and praying for our children is one of the ways to show our love and concern for their physical, spiritual & emotional needs. Be encouraged by these scriptures.
Pray for their lives to be preserved by God and that they’ll walk in the fear and knowledge of God. We saw this in the life of Abraham who prayed for his son Ishmael. ”So Abraham said to God, “May Ishmael live under your special blessing!” Genesis 17:18 (NLT)
A Devoted Heart
Pray for your children to have a devoted heart to keep God’s commands. An example is David, for Solomon ”Give my son Solomon the wholehearted desire to obey all your commands, laws, and decrees, and to do everything necessary to build this Temple, for which I have made these preparations.” 1 Chronicles 29:19 (NLT)
Forgiveness Of Sins
Pray and constantly (i.e. daily) ask for the forgiveness of sins for your children. Job consecrated and offered burnt offerings to the Lord on behalf of all his children and he did this continually. ”And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed[a] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.” Job 1:5 (ESV)
Always pray for their health without giving up. Pray for their physical and emotional health including any demonic attacks, etc. Build a life of FAITH to see deliverance in the lives of your children. James 5:15 says ”And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” The Syrophoenician Woman exhibited great faith for the healing of her daughter – Mark 7:26-30
May we be women of faith who always have a relentless life of prayer.
Here are my selected verses for the month of July ’17. I pray these words become your joy and heart delight.
Psalm 37:23 – The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Proverbs 27:5 – Open rebuke is better than secret love.
Isaiah 26:3 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
John 15:7 – If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Romans 8:6 – For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Holy Bible – King James Version (KJV)
Read Joshua 1:1-8
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
An obedient child always wins the heart of his/her parents. When you have two kids – one obeys your commands, the other doesn’t you respond to the needs of the obedient child quicker than the other one. There are times you may even buy him things he didn’t even ask for. The reason is that he pleases you by obeying your commands; always available whenever you need him.
Our heavenly father promised to do so much more for us if only we obey His commands – His word.
Joshua was commanded not to leave or abandon the word of God but rather spend time to continuously read and reflect on His instructions making sure to obey and do all that is written therein.
Basically God is telling us to meditate on His word and do all that is in it if we really want to be successful. A habit of meditation and seriously pondering on the word of God gives you a great reward of success and prosperity. Psalm 19:11 indicates that there is great reward in obeying His law.
His word is the way out of every situation so the more time you spend on His word the more you’ll see the benefits in your daily life. It is the price you have to pay for a successful and prosperous life
As women we have so much activities in our daily lives especially new moms & single moms but I encourage you to constantly make time for God and His word.
Thank you heavenly father for revealing your truth to me. Help me to always give you the best of my time. Grant me the grace to always meditate and obey your word.
Thought for the Day
Prosperity and success is found in the word of God.
A life of Meditation, obedient to His word and living according to His word.
Here are my selected verses for the month of June ’17. Each verse is intended to be memorized and meditated upon for a week. I agree that it’s difficult at times to memorize scriptures but as you read over and over again they become part of you. 2 Peter 1:20 makes us understand that “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. In other words the scripture is itself a prophecy and I trust that He’ll look on his word to perform it. amen
Psalm 20:7 – Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God
Psalm 90:12 – So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Job 8:7 – Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
Luke 5:32 – I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Ephesians 4:27 – Neither give place to the devil.
Holy Bible – King James Version (KJV)
Holy Bible – English Standard Version (ESV)
The Psalmist says your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I believe one of the things the word of God does is to lighten our path in times of darkness. The word of God also makes our ways prosperous and give us good success (Joshua 1:8). Even though all scripture is breathed out by God yet I’ve grown to love some popular ones. I call them My Favorite Verses. Be blessed as you read and meditate on them.
Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Psalms 3:3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Continue reading “10 Of My Favorite Bible Verses”
