A Defensive Weapon

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)

Heavenly father I thank you for the cleansing and sanctifying power of your word.   Thank you for the ability to keep your word in my heart.

Holy Spirit be my guide and cause me to always read and understand your word.

May the gospel and the holy scriptures dwell in me richly that I can stand firm against the power of evil.

I give you glory Lord because heaven and earth may pass away, but your word will not go unfulfilled in Jesus name. amen

God’s Pure Word

This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

Psalm 18:30(ESV)

Thank you oh Lord for your word.  Thank you for the light that comes at the entrance of your word.  May I always be led by your word and not by the traditions of men.

I pray for grace to always read  my Bible.  By faith I testify that I’ll hold on to your word because it is tried and true, in Jesus name.  amen.

The Living Bread

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (NIV) – Matthew 4:4

Your word oh Lord is my daily food.  As I taste your good word may I be nourished.  I pray that your word will be deeply rooted in my heart that it’ll bring forth fruit.

I ask for the spirit of meekness to always abide in your word.  Holy Spirit be my guide and teacher.  amen.

Honey on My Lips

“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” – Psalm 119:103 (NIV)

Lord, thank you for your word which is divinely sweet to my taste.  I ask that you place a deep desire for your word in my heart and cause me to read, discern and enjoy it.

Let the words that proceed from my mouth be faith building & may they be sweet to the hearers.  amen.
